“You couldn’t relive your life, skipping the awful parts, without losing what made it worthwhile. You had to accept it as a whole—like the world, or the person you loved.”

Cat Caught in Vortex of Cuteness
The National Guard has been called in to deal with a situation developing in Chandler, AZ, where a cat is caught in what scientists are calling a “cuteness vortex.”
"The vortex is a mass of cute air that descended from the Canadian Rockies," explained Wei-Lin Mah, a professor of cuteology at the University of Colorado. "We’ve seen a few kittens and at least one puppy get sucked into the vortex, but in most cases, it dissipates quickly.”
In the case of the Arizona cat, explained Mah, the vortex combined forces with a mass of hot air from the west and was stuck firm.

“I read once that the ancient Egyptians had fifty words for sand & the Eskimos had a hundred words for snow. I wish I had a thousand words for love, but all that comes to mind is the way you move against me while you sleep & there are no words for that.”

“Dear you,
.
As I succumb to the call
of lady night and lay down
my weary head, please know;
I miss you and always have.
But do not fret my love, for I
am sure we are destined to
meet someday. Until then, you
have my heart and my soul
to keep you company as you
make your way home.
.
Eternally Yours”

“The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.”

“I never asked for you
in halves. All those gray cloud banks
threatening rain in your leather dark
eyes, the jagged teeth of sunlight
trying to make a home
on your cheekbones
and failing. I want your happy
and your porcelain, and everything
that comes with shadows
and ankle-high mud.
We are going to get better
at loving scars and glued parts.
Let us throw some petals on floorboards,
spill laundry waters on our too dirty
clothes after kissing away the taste
of dinner from our mouths.
For once, the sound of three words
I thought was a lie
came in full and wanting.
When I heard it from you,
it felt like I never heard it
from anyone who mattered
like two lungs full of air,
like breathing.”

There was no more she could ask except for his hands which seem to draw out poetry and nothing seems more right to her than the delicate touches of the only hands which could cover her skin with paintings of bright blue skies and other wondrous things. “That was the thing. You never got used to it, the idea of someone being gone. Just when you think it’s reconciled, accepted, someone points it out to you, and it just hits you all over again, that shocking.”
